We all benefit from learning to move with consideration for our body’s needs and trying to achieve balance between body and mind. This class is appropriate for all ages and abilities, for those with pain or concerns about doing assertive movements, or who have concerns about their physical ability to “do yoga”. Although we will be working on the floor, modifications for chair or ball may be utilized. Our intention in this class is for improved breath ability and techniques, improved confidence in your stability and mobility, and improved ability to find your balance in life. The class is based on Medical Therapeutic Yoga and incorporates philosophy from many arms of yoga including Hatha, Kundalini, Ashtanga and Iyengar without being dogmatic. It is appropriate for all, including those with Pelvic floor and core concerns, newer moms, and those with joint and arthritis concerns, spine and neck problems, osteoporosis and bone health concerns, and for individuals during and after cancer treatment.
